Dr Hoelscher graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. He grew up with many pets in the small town of Troy in Southern Illinois. He started working in a veterinary clinic when he was 15 years old as an assistant, and was able to gain hands on experience early, working with both small and large animals.
He attended Southern Illinois University and graduated with a degree in Medical Biology. From there he went on to Ross University's School of Veterinary Medicine from which he graduated in 2005. He immediately went to work for Country View.
He is a member of our large animal veterinary team. His primary interest is in equine and small animal restorative and prophylactic dentistry and oral surgery. Dr. Hoelscher has a deep compassion for animals and a keen interest in medicine which led him to become a veterinarian. When asked what the best thing about his job was, he responded, "The successes! I feel great satisfaction any time I can help relieve an animal’s discomfort and give them a better quality of life."
He and his wife, Kathleen, live on a hobby farm just south of New Glarus. Currently their family consists of 3 cats; Chester, Kiley, and Petey; a yellow lab, Cooper; 2 donkeys, Sabina and Sal, and three horses, Louie, their own, and 2 boarders, Emma and Cider.
