Dr. Andrea Lanphear graduated from the UW Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in 2001 with interests in nutrition, holistic medicine (such as acupuncture) and animal behavior. Dr. Lanphear is certified in small animal acupuncture from the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine.
She says the best thing about her job is "helping people help their animals live long and happy lives." A love of science, animals and challenges are reasons Dr. Lanphear wanted to become a veterinarian. "I enjoy puzzles and because animals don’t speak English, they present to us with mysteries that need to be solved," she says.
Dr. Lanphear works for Anshen Veterinary Acupuncture Monday through Thursdays. She practices western medicine at Country View Veterinary service Fridays and rotational Saturdays. She enjoys a “wholistic” approach to animal health. She lives in Madison with her husband, dog “Kiko” and cats “Morrissey” and “Garcia”. If she is not home in Madison she enjoys going up north to Land O’ Lakes, Wisconsin where her husband built them a cabin; she helped a lot too.
