Dr. Emily Leuthner
Dr. Emily Leuthner, owner and Country View's practice manager, is board certified in Large Animal Internal Medicine. She received her DVM and Masters Degree in equine immunology from the University of Wisconsin and completed her medicine residency at the University of Pennsylvania New Bolton Center. Her main interests include neurological and cardiac diseases. Her desire to understand how body systems worked led her to become a veterinarian. Dr. Leuthner enjoys combining her interest in business management with helping clients and their horses.
Prior to joining Country View Veterinary Service in 2004, Dr. Leuthner operated a solo equine practice in southern Wisconsin. She and her husband, a small animal veterinarian in Madison, have two growing boys and several pets. In her free time, Dr. Leuthner enjoys riding dressage, traveling, running and photography.
Dr. Keith Gunby
Keith Gunby graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the
University of Tennessee in 1990. He spent the first decade of his
professional career at a private practice in Connecticut and the second
working at a busy emergency and critical care practice in Madison, WI.
Country View Veterinary Service welcomed him in November of 2011.
Dr. Gunby has a passion for providing his patients with the safest, least painful, and most up-to-date care possible. He enjoys working with all species of companion animals and has a special interest in providing patients with minimally invasive surgical options with the aid of rigid endoscopy technology (often used in human surgical procedures such as gall bladder and appendix laparoscopy). He received advanced training in the use and application of rigid endoscopy in 2007.
Dr. Gunby is excited to provide Country View patients with a full spectrum of medical and surgical care. Dr. Gunby lives with his wife (also a veterinarian), four young children, and their many species of pets in Mount Horeb.
Dr. Chris Olson
Dr. Chris Olson grew up in Madison and graduated from the UW school of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. An interest in science and a desire to help people led Dr. Olson into veterinary medicine. She joined Country View Veterinary Service in 2000 and is a small animal veterinarian.
Dr. Olson loves the variety of her job as a small animal veterinarian. One moment she could be performing an exploratory surgery and the next examining a sick animal or a puppy for their first visit to the vet. She enjoys surgery, critical care, internal medicine and preventive care. Her special interests consist of ultrasound, soft tissue surgery, preventive and exotic medicine.
She and her husband, Ron, have 2 daughters, Kaitryn and Aeryn, and 2 dogs, Sansa and Badger. They all live in McFarland. She enjoys family, running, swimming, learning, and camping.
Dr. Leigh Kasten
Dr. Leigh Kasten earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University in 2013. She went on to complete a one-year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the ASPCA Animal Hospital in New York City, then practiced as an emergency veterinarian in Madison prior to joining Country View. She loves the variety of challenges veterinary medicine offers, and has a passion for dentistry, wellness care, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, and emergency care.
