Keep your cats and dogs safe during the summer months |
Heatstroke -
Heatstroke can seriously injure or kill your pet, but it is preventable. Never leave pets for any length of time in a vehicle on a warm day; remember to exercise during cooler time of the day such as early morning or later in the evening. If you notice your pet having rapid breathing, lethargy, excess salivation, or is falling over. Veterinary assistance may be necessary if your pet does become overheated.

Pets and Fireworks don't mix -
The sound of fireworks can both terrify your pet and potentially damage their hearing. Companion pets could also be injured from falling sparks or burning embers left behind from fireworks.
A few ideas to think about:
- Do not let fireworks off close to animals
- Think about staying with your pet during firework time to watch them and keep them from harming themselves
- Keep your pets indoors thru-out a fireworks event
- Secure all window and doors to prevent pets from escaping and close curtains or shades to help muffle the sounds
- Make sure to keep your pet's collar on in the event they escape, it can aid in
their return to you
- Speak with your Veterinarian if your pets fireworks anxiety becomes a concern
